Most new patients start their care in the same way. You will sit down with the doctor and discuss your health problem. This will take 10-15 minutes.
After that consultation the doctor will usually suggest a neurologic and orthopedic exam. This exam is used to confirm that your problem is a chiropractic problem.
If your problem is severe enough, or if there are other extenuating circumstances, the doctor may recommend x-rays. The x-rays help locate and isolate the problem and provide information as to how the patient should be treated.
Depending on the condition, the doctor may provide care that day or wait until after he has had time to study the exam and x-ray findings. Your total first visit should take about one hour.
On your second visit the doctor will sit down with you, show you your x-rays and explain your condition. He will also give you a recommendation on care. After he has explained the problem and recommended care, he will start your care.
